OUR STORY

We are a husband and wife duo who both love books and are avid readers. There are probably as many books in our house as in a small library. For many years we battled with finding the right light, the right sofa, the right time and place to read and for many years we succeeded in some areas and failed in others. We succeeded in finding a sofa that suits both of our needs, we even named it. We found the perfect time to read too that suits as both well. Precisely 2.25 hours after dinner and we both agreed that there are no better place to read than home. But one thing we always struggled to find was the right light. We tried everything. From bedside lamps to flashlights. Yes, even those, we had to give the benefit of the doubt.. Unfortunately, none of the lights ever worked the way we wanted them to. They all had one or more of the following issues: uneven illumination, glare, too bright, too dim, casting shadows..

In our quest for the perfect light, we developed our very own book light screen. Our aim was simple: create an affordable yet versatile light. It should illuminate the page evenly, work in any lighting conditions and with adjustable brightness so that we can finally read without straining our eyes. We are not saying it's perfect but it's 99 percent there. We loved it so much that we decided it was time to share it with the world. Our friends, parents and acquaintances loved it and we took an obvious step and set up our first ever store 'the book lover'. The light was an instant success and as away to improve our store we started adding more products that we are passionate about, especially bookmarks, classic quills and decorative lights.
